Hey, I’m Dianne, and I’ve spent the better part of 25 years as a content creator and editor. It feels like a lifetime ago that I graduated from college with a journalism diploma. Back then, I was certain my end game was to grab a seat at a daily newspaper behind a copy editor’s desk. I never aspired to go as big as the Toronto Star or the Washington Post; the big markets (and the big city) never suited me much.

 As it turns out, neither did the life of a newsie.

 I spent my fair share of time at community newspapers before moving on to magazines. In the end, it was the freelance bug that bit me in 2015 and lured me to a life of one-on-one writing consultation with service-based businesses. Telling stories has always been my talent. Helping small- and medium-sized businesses tell theirs is my pleasure.

I’m a Canadian girl with 2 Canadian girls of my own. And a husband.

And a dog. And a cat.

 (I’d secretly love a pet pig, too. Or a hippopotamus.)

 I’m a recovering perfectionist with a weakness for chocolate who gets about 50% of the recommended amount of daily exercise. My high school yearbook photo said I was most likely to have a clean house. As it turns out, that’s not true.

 When I’m not wordsmithing or scrolling endlessly through Pinterest looking for home decorating ideas, I’m hanging with my neighbours and finding clever ways to inject Seinfeld quotes into everyday conversations. I don’t like seafood, I’m terrible at keeping up with my own social media, and I’m a sucker for xydeco music.
